It’s near the USMC air station Iwakuni. Maybe cheaper to drive in the 50s?

Nice find. I didn’t know that Japan was into cars with gasifiers. Was the rear seat replaced with a storing place for fuel? My friend has a 70’s Jeep with wood fired gasifier and running out of space for the sacks of wood chips seems to be an issue.

I tried looking it up, and it seems it’s a modern recreation of an old vehicle? (well the gas system is a modern recreation) You can go for free rides during the running season. It appears the original one may be on display at the train station. I don’t really know Japanese so that’s as much as I could make of what I could find. Very interesting.

No the back seat was there. Everything seems to be externally mounted.
